Description and Table of Contents

Description

Twelve years ago it was unknown, then it was a threat only to gay men and drug abusers, now it has escalated to being on of the greatest of public health threats throughout society. This book covers areas not handled in previous AIDS titles which have been generally about the horrors of, and coping with the disease. This book looks at the more positive sides - longer survival rates, the improving quality of life afforded by medical advances, and the network of support groups and supporters now available. Three photo essays in the book cover a support group of people caring for strangers, a couple who adopted five children with AIDS, and the awareness campaign.
