内容説明

In the last decade, those working in the helping professions have become more aware of the sexual abuse of children as a significant social problem. The chapters in "Listening to Children" portray the real life experiences of a variety of professionals, who, in their work, interviewed children who may have been abused. Their aim is to better understand the problems and ways to help children and adult survivors to help prevent today's victims from perhaps becoming the perpetrators of tomorrow. Topics include: an examination of the interview assessment model; empowering mothers of sexually abused children; working with adult female survivors of childhood sexual abuse; and young children who exhibit sexually abusive behaviour.
