This is the definitive English translation of the new Russian Civil Code (Parts 1 and 2), often referred to as "the second Russian Constitution".The Civil Code of the Russian Federation is the result of a collaborative effort of a leading United States expert on Russian law and of the staff of the Private Law Research Center attached to the Office of the President of the Russian Federation -- the Center that had primary responsibility for drafting the new Civil Code.
The authoritative introduction, complete table of contents. and comprehensive index combine to set this work far beyond the utility of any existing translations of the Civil Code. It will be a must-have resource for government, law and international business collections.

This fascinating work examines in detail the relationship between American politics and films, from Birth of a Nation to Fahrenheit 9/11. It provides a decade-by-decade survey of politics and films of all types - comedies and dramas to biographies and documentaries - as well as a helpful framework that students and general readers can use to analyze the political content of films. The book also features an examination of film techniques as they relate to political films, an exploration of the effects of real-world politics on Hollywood, and a practical guide to writing film analysis, as well as a guide to web-based film resources and an extensive "Political Filmography." Throughout the book, the authors emphasize both the political messages transmitted through films and the political values that are reflected in them.

内容説明
The Third Part of the Civil Code of the Russian Federation was adopted by the Russian Parliament on November 26, 2001, to take effect on March 1, 2002. It has two divisions: Inheritance Law and Private International Law. This translation of the Third Part of the Code by Peter B. Maggs includes an introduction by Professor Maggs as well as all amendments to the first two parts of the Code. Some of these amendments are of a purely technical nature, but some include substantive changes. This volume thus complements the first and second parts of the Civil Code of the Russian Federation, published in 1997 by M.E. Sharpe.

The Gilded Age and Dawn of the Modern: 1877-1919, a new title in the six-title series History Through Literature: American Voices, American Themes, provides insights and analysis regarding the history, literature, and cultural climate of the Gilded Age and early twentieth century. It brings together informational text and primary documents that cover notable historic events and trends, authors, literary works, social movements, and cultural and artistic themes.
The Gilded Age and Dawn of the Modern begins with an interdisciplinary chronology that identifies, defines, and places in context the notable historical events, literary works, authors' lives, and cultural landmarks of the period. This is followed by a comprehensive overview essay that summarizes the era's major historical trends, social movements, cultural and artistic themes, literary voices, and enduring works as reflections of each other and the spirit of the times.
The core content comprises 20-30 articles on representative writers of the period, along with excerpts from essential literary works that highlight a historical theme, sociocultural movement, or the confluence of the two. These excerpts serve the Common Core emphasis on "informational texts from a broad range of cultures and periods", including "stories, drama, poetry, and literary nonfiction".
