This text consists of a series of research and review papers on face perception published by the author and his colleagues since the mid-1980s. Young includes detailed studies of the types of impairment to face perception which can follow brain injury or psychiatric illness, and analyzes their implications for our understanding of the brain, from the functional structure of mental processes to the question of consciousness itself.
