Description and Table of Contents
Description
The 2nd edition of this concise handbook has been produced to help junior doctors, those preparing for the MRCP examination and practising physicians to have a better understanding of the principles of neurology. The basic aims of history taking, careful neurological examination and assessment of the probable anatomical site or sites of the lesion remain the core of this work which has been expanded to include new sections on neuro-imaging, AIDS and rehabilitation.
As in the first edition, emphasis has been given to common neurological disorders presented in a clear and accessible manner. The chapters on ataxias, peripheral neuropathies and muscle diseases have been updated to include new classifications and the identification of some disorders by DNA testing. Material has also been added to take account of the latest advances in therapy and of the recent developments in genetics of some neurological disorders.
