Description and Table of Contents

Description

The second edition of this dictionary has been significantly expanded and updated: existing entries have been added to and/or brought up to date while many are completely new, giving an increase overall of about 30%. Biochemical and mechanistic toxicology, clearly the strong point of the first edition, has been augmented by additional entries in environmental and regulatory toxicology. Chemical entries have been made more uniform with the addition of CAS numbers. To assist readers interested in a particular subject, an additional index has been compiled that is organised by subject area.

Table of Contents

  • measurement of toxicity
  • diagnosis and treatment
  • environmental pollutants
  • pertinent regulations, organisations, government bodies and associations in North America and Western Europe.
