Description and Table of Contents

Description

Zirconia-based systems have been extensively studied for some 25 years, and a wealth of exciting results has been amassed. This book tracks the progress made in the field; from very early phase stability work, to modern approaches which involve quite sophisticated models for the transformation toughening that is associated with the tetragonal to monoclinic phase transformation.

Table of Contents

  • Crystal Structures of Zirconia Phases and their Inter-Relation Phase Diagrams and Thermodynamic Properties of Zirconia Based Ceramics Microstructural Aspects on the Cubic-Tetragonal Transformation in Zirconia The Tetragonal to Monoclinic Martensitic Transformation in Zirconia A Model of Stress Assisted Transformation in Mg-PSZ and Ce-TZP Plastic Deformation of Cubic Zirconia Single Crystals Role of Ferroelasticity in Toughening of Zirconia Ceramics Defect Chemistry and Defect-Dependent Properties of Undoped and Stabilised Zirconia.
