In 1988 Kitty Dukakis became a household name thanks to her husband's presidential campaign. She also became a drug addict and an alcoholic. She now speaks out about her public and private life and about her own personal struggle to overcome drug and alcohol abuse. She writes about her childhood, her years as an unconventional feisty political wife, her battles against diet pills (an addiction she hid from her husband for 20 years) and alcohol. She takes us behind the scenes and shows the reader what it is really like on the national campaign trail.
