Description and Table of Contents
Description
After setting the scene with accounts of the "Standard Models" of particle physics and cosmology (theory and experimental evidence) the book describes experimental methods for investigating physics beyond the "Standard Models". Until the next generation of accelerators comes on-line this means effectively using non-accelerator techniques, e.g. looking for evidence in astrophysical observations, underground experiments, nuclear reactor experiments. With the demise of the SSC (to have been built in Dallas - now cancelled) this period is likely to be prolonged significantly! The field is currently fashionable and is likely to remain so for some time. The fashionable phrase for the field is Astro-Particle Physics.
