Description
This work takes the reader on a literary tour of Russia from the streets of Bulgakov's Moscow to the country estates of Tolstoy which can be read as an overview of Russian literature or used as a guide to a trip around Russia. Beginning with Moscow the book paints a picture of the most important literary sites in Moscow from the homes of writers like Pushkin and Mayakovsky, to the streets where important literary scenes take place. It then describes the areas around Moscow, travels to St Petersburg, and onwards throughout the country building a map of Russia.
