Devoted solely to the species of Plasmodium parasitizing birds, this work updates the subject for a huge tropical part of the globe at the heart of the migration network. The author's findings demonstrate the presence of most of the valid species of bird malaria parasites in the Asian tropical subregion and its eastern and western borders, and thus serve as a source for their identification. Photomicrographs illustrate many of the 536 bird types from the 180 species found in the region.
