Description
This volume looks critically at the relationship between economics and security and its application to the Asia-Pacific region. Issues analyzed included relationships between economic interdependence, capitalism, democracy and security, regional trade and communications structures, the relevance of interstate war, and the economic role of the military. The contributions make clear that without effective communication between economic and defence communities, official and academic, the crucial understanding of the economic-security nexus will be lacking, undermining both economic and security policies.
