内容説明

Designed to make the Internet accessible to anyone, this text introduces the basics of using Netscape Navigator 2.0 to get onto the World Wide Web and have a worthwhile and rewarding experience. It uses a travel analogy to guide readers on a trip through the fictional Webville, uses analogies to make the Internet less intimidating and foreign, uses a step-by-step "travel guide" to allow the student to start exploring the Web in less than 15 minutes, and provides simple explanations of Internet terms without the use of jargon. It also provides information on topics that include electronic mail (Eudora), listserv mailing lists, WWW, gopher, File Transfer Protocol (FTP), Telnet, Usenet Newsgroups, Free-Nets, search engines, and chat rooms. Troubleshooting hints are provided, to make the students' journey through the Internet more enjoyable. Also included are guided tours to show: how to use Eudora for e-mail; how businesses use the Internet; and how to design a Web page.
