Description and Table of Contents

Description

This atlas is an excellent visual aid to interpreting breast imaging findings and a valuable complement to Dr. Kopans' definitive reference, "Breast Imaging", Second Edition. The atlas contains 489 images depicting the various mammographic, ultrasonographic, and MRI findings encountered in clinical practice. Over 250 legends highlight key teaching points that will help the reader approach similar situations. The atlas opens with a series of screening cases that illustrate the situations likely to be encountered in screening. Subsequent sections are organized according to specific characteristics of lesions to facilitate use by the reader. The organization follows the categories defined in the American College of Radiology Breast Imaging Reporting and Data System (BIRADS[registered]). BIRADS[registered] assessment codes are used to summarize the clinical significance of findings.
