The Scottish Office Home Department commissioned a programme of research to evaluate policy implementation and the reports on the studies are published in a series of eight volumes. This volume discusses the key themes which have emerged from individual studies on the programme. It examines the policy's input on social work practice and considers the implications of the findings for social work with offenders in the longer term.
