This work contains the scientific and engineering activities of IAS-5. The exploration of automatic systems has had much attention over the years, and the current trend is toward systems that can adapt to changes in their environment. This conference provided a forum for the international community of researchers in the field of autonomous systems, as well as architectures, tools, components, techniques and design methodologies. The emphasis was on science and technology for autonomous systems working in a complex environment.
