Description
This volume raises the question, What will community colleges be
in the twenty-first century? The authors suggest that a
critical role for the people's college will be to enhance civic
literacy through community-based programming and service learning.
The contributors provide a variety of practical applications
supported by a theoretical framework and empirical research. This
