This wide-ranging dictionary of earth sciences has been compiled with the help of a team of specialist contributors, and has been substantially revised and updated for this new edition. It is intended as a reference for all students of the subject, especially those on interdisciplinary courses. The volume contains over 6000 entries, with new material on planetary science, remote sensing, statistics, and sequence stratigraphy.
