内容説明
Cross-border interaction is a topical policy concern on the EU agenda, and even more so in the former socialist countries. The legacy of the "Iron Curtain" and the formation of a new "Golden Curtain" have, this book argues, profound influences on European integration and security policies. At the same time, there are new prospects in the making - the scales of cross-border interaction are changing. It is no more an issue between blocks and states only, but increasingly between regions and localities. The rise of border issues on to the political agenda has aroused interest within and across scientific disciplines - including political science, economics, sociology, geography, history and cultural studies.
