It is a practical handbook designed to be used actively to encourage discussion with young people and challenge problem behaviour. Areas covered include: being looked after; accommodation; carer's responsibilities; practical social skills; becoming independent; legal terms and issues; education and qualifications. The material has been successfully piloted and validated by staff from statutory and voluntary social care agences. It is core NVQ material.
