Description and Table of Contents

Description

This text traces the political experiences of nations in both east and west Europe in the context of the development of democracy. It provides seven detailed country studies of Britain, France, Germany, Spain, Russia, Poland and Hungary and also includes a chapter on the European Community. The book adopts a comparative approach, exploring European politics across nations. Three conceptual chapters provide an overview to comparative analysis, European societies, their citizens and political institutions and one chapter addresses the European Union and the transnational aspects of the European experience.
