Coaching is widely accepted as a successful approach to developing people. It is a powerful strategy for building a strong working team, creating people who have clear objectives, the competence to do their jobs, and the confidence to perform difficult tasks. To be a successful coach requires specific skills, and this book aims to pass on those skills. A variety of ways in which coaching is understood and applied are discussed, a successful coaching model is provided to help develop coaching skills, and nessessary skills of a successful coach are identified. The book also aims to show how best to apply these skills in the workplace, for both individuals and teams.
