All oncologists look after patients with unusual tumours. Cancers can be described as uncommon because of their site within the human body or due to their specific type. Major textbooks on general oncology rarely devote more than one or two paragraphs to such cancers, and original research papers are rare. Therefore, a comprehensive and critical review on many of the rare tumours is essential to all oncologists.
