Description
The function of the painted object ranges from the practical to the profound. The 40 articles in this volume explore the history and conservation of a wide range of painted objects, from polychrome sculpture and altarpieces to carousel horses, tobacconist figures, American Indian totems, Victorian garden furniture, French cabinets, architectural elements and horsedrawn carriages. The aim of this symposium was to bridge the gap among the various communities involved in the conservation of these objects.
