Description and Table of Contents

Description

Indiana University's Latin American Music Center holds printed scores and recordings of music dating from the Colonial period to the present. This catalog is organized by country, and within each country, alphabetically by composer. Brief biographies precede the listings of each composer's works. For scores, the catalog gives the date of composition, the medium or instrumentation, the publisher, and information about movements or text. The same data plus the names of the performers are provided for recordings. Every item in the catalog carries a number, by which it is easily identified and made accessible to the public through Interlibrary Loan. Composers, researchers, and performers are encouraged to make use of this rich treasury; and in serving their patrons, music librarians will find this volume invaluable.
