Description
This work explores the relationship between the processes of social and economic change on women, highlighting women and the gender division. It critically examines the myth that development is gender neutral and that benefits of development reach men and women equally. It uses the framework of gender relations to scrutinize the distribution of resources, assets and skills among women, arguing that modernization has not had an unequivocally beneficial or positive impact on the lives of women. This analysis emphasizes the importance of empowering women for equitable development.
