Description and Table of Contents

Description

This work documents research in the study of ion exchange. Sections address the use of ion exchange in the clean-up of aqueous effluents from the nuclear industries, developments in the theory of ion exchange and the employment of the technique to environmental problems in drinking water treatment and industrial waters. The analytical aspects of ion exchange are covered in-depth, including the latest developments in ion exchange chromatography, gradient and ion exclusion chromatography, and capillary electrophoresis protein separations. Finally, novel organic and inorganic exchangers are desribed together with their potential industrial uses. Each major section is headed by a review from an international expert, describing recent progress in their area of expertise.
