Description

This is a presentation and explanation of aspects of clinical decision-making. An introductory chapter on clinical decision-making is followed by case studies of the most common diseases and disorders encountered in family practice. Each case study includes a review of the information necessary for developing a plan of care. The cases are holistically-focused and include lifespan considerations. Emphasis is placed on assessment, physical examination, diagnosis and treatment planning. The text's problem-oriented format is designed to promote and encourage thinking skills. A section of tutorials at the end of the text provides selected answers and rationales to reinforce the learned material.
