内容説明
This study of conflict focuses on the investigation of conflict processes that cut across levels of analysis, approaching social conflict through the examination of protracted conflict. This "protracted conflict" is defined in the book as long-term, ongoing conflict which permeates all aspects of society. It is explicitly linked to two-level analysis, the analysis of crisis, the nature of identity groups, and enduring rivalries. The essays focus on Israel, the Palestinians, and Lebanon, the Philippines and Nicaraguar, Sri Lanka, India and Pakistan, and Northern Ireland.
