内容説明

Sarojini Naidu (1879-1949) is generally regarded as one of the outstanding women of this century. Poet, orator, freedom fighter, and leader of the women's movement she was one of India's best known national figures. She left behind an extensive and sustained corpus of letters written over five and a half decades. This book selects those which have some bearing on her life, ideas, views, beliefs, desires, and ambitions. Her correspondents include G.K. Gokhale, Edmund Gosse, Jawaharlal Nehru, and her 4 children, Jaisoorya, Padmaja, Ranadheera, and Leilamani.
