Description

The growth of electronic information networks, particularly the Internet, has provided a wider range of opportunities for the provision of community information. This text shows the extent of CIN development, defining CINs, and giving an overview of worldwide research and available technologies. It also provides models for CIN structures contributed by practitioners in the field. These include: a country model; a city model; a geographic area model; a locality model; a subject model; community broadcasting; a local newspapers model; and an association model. Further information, such as other Web sites, is also provided.
