This is an account of the experiences of Royal Australian Navy ships and personnel in the postwar conflicts in Southeast Asia between 1955 and 1972. The navy was involved in conflicts such as the Far East Strategic Reserve, the Malayan emergency, confrontation with Indonesia and the Vietnam War. This activity came at a time when the RAN faced significant structural problems of underfunding and obsolescenec. The volume is the seventh in the series "The Official History of Australia's Involvement in Southeast Asian Conflicts 1948-1975".
