A monograph on Giovanni Segantini, giving the public an opportunity to see important paintings and drawings by this influential artist. He was a leading member of the European avant-garde of his day, a role model for the Futurists, and was hailed as an innovator and a revolutionary. An essay on the artist's oeuvre is also included, taking in his early genre paintings, influenced by realism, right up to his symbolic depictions of nature in a divisionist style.
