内容説明

The development of Islamic theology is rooted heavily in philosophy and mysticism, from the arrival of Greek philosophy into the Muslim world in the eighth century to the present day. In this book, Fakhry traces this evolution, from the translation of ancient Greek philosophy texts into Arabic, through the development of Sufism to contemporary trends. It highlights the key issues, individuals and writings, and explores the conflicts and controversies that have characterized the development of Islamic thought.
