The development of Islamic theology is rooted heavily in philosophy and mysticism, from the arrival of Greek philosophy into the Muslim world in the eighth century to the present day. In this book, Fakhry traces this evolution, from the translation of ancient Greek philosophy texts into Arabic, through the development of Sufism to contemporary trends.
