Description
The book seek to analyse the socio-cultural milieu of colonial and post colonial phases of indianhistory with a particular emphasis on the history of eastern India. This work mark a a sharp departure from the conventional approaches to the study of evils like Kulinism, devadasi, prostitution, polygamy the sati etc. It aims at discussing how illiteracy has been allowed to perpetuate to the advantage of the privileged sections of the society.
