Focusing on the politics of the North-West Frontier Province of India between 1937 and 1947, this book examines the only Muslim majority province which suported the Indian National Congress in its struggle against the British Raj. It explores the rise of the Khudai Khidmatgars, the preference of the NWFP Muslims for the Congress, and Muslim League's initial failure to acquire their support. Finally the dismissal of the provincial Congress ministry by M.A. Jinnah on the eve of Partition is examined.
