Description and Table of Contents
Description
For many years applied scientists involved in plant production have felt the need for a standard and uniform description of the clearly visible growth stages of plants. The BBCH scale of plant growth stages clearly answers this need. The handbook describes all field crops of major commercial importance (including rice, soya, peanuts and cotton) as well as important fruit and vegetables. The growth stage characteristics of significant weed species are also included. The BBCH scale is now an internationally recognised standard, increasingly employed by scientists world-wide. Of particular significance is the fact that this book contains sections in four languages and thus contributes to a large extent to reducing communication problems.
