Description
A detailed study of prehistoric architecture in Anatolia based on evidence from excavations and bibliographic research. Andreas Schachner includes descriptions and plans of buildings dating from the Aceramic Neolithic through to the Middle Bronze Age, as well as speculating on their functions and highlighting particular features. Further information on building materials, methods of construction, a typology of house types and inferences on the nature of the social organisation of communities, are also given. Part I includes seven chapters on the above, with a bibliography and catalogue of sites; Part II includes the illustrations.
