内容説明
The first edition of Sociology: Making sense of society was received with huge enthusiasm and provided an attractive alternative to established introductory Sociology texts. Whilst retaining the successful features of its predecessor, this fully updated new edition has been redesigned to be both more appealing and accessible to the reader. As well as extensive updating of all data, tables, graphs and case studies, each chapter has been fully revised and updated, some completely rewritten. The new edition also sees the inclusion of an exciting new chapter: Health and Illness written by Judith Green (London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine) and Nicki Thorogood (UMDS, Guy's Hospital). Sociology: Making sense of society is essential reading for undergraduate and advanced 'A' level sociology courses, and will also be relevant for students from other disciplines who require an accessible guide to contemporary British society and sociological thought.
