内容説明

This is a very entertaining account written by the Jesuit Missionaries who traveled all over the world trying to spread the message of the gospel. As expected, this collection of 2 volumes is very judgemental in its outlook and discounts the faith and beliefs of the natives. The scope of this is, geographically, very vast; it describes various parts of India (Bengal, Madura etc.) China, South East Asia, Japan, Ethiopia, Peru, California etc. whatever be their lens, one fact that cannot be overlooked is the grit and determination of these missionary fathers who went into hostile areas and preached their message, often at great perils to themselves. This book is a reprint of the 1743 edition. The book has maps that illustrate the region that the missionaries visited.
