Description
The Human Rights Act gives effect in the UK to rights and freedoms guaranteed under the European Convention on Human Rights. The Act provides that legislation (including secondary legislation) should be drafted and existing legislation interpreted (and amended where necessary) to ensure compatibility with the Convention.
