Museum theater is an effective and stimulating learning tool that brings museums new and repeat visitors. This manual provides both the novice and the expert lots of practical advice on how to start a theater program; prepare a budget; find funding; earn income; develop a script; recruit and train staff, interns, and volunteers; work with exhibit developers; build community partnerships; and evaluate the program. Examples from large and small living history sites, historic houses, science museums, ethnographic exhibits, and aquarium and zoo programs offer a wide range of approaches to theater.
