内容説明
An account of mathematical developments in the study of water wave scattering problems involving barriers of various geometrical configurations. The authors explore mathematical tools and techniques, both exact and approximate, required for solving problems involving vertical, nearly vertical and curved barriers as well as their generalizations. They aim to prove that while the exact methods have their own limitations, some of the approximate methods, such as peturbation and Galerkin techniques produce sufficiently accurate numerical results in a number of situations. Solely related to the mathematical study of water wave scattering problems involving barriers present in deep as well as finite water, this book should be suitable for applied mathematicians and enginieers engaged in ocean-related industries.
