内容説明
Many information and library practitioners are involved in training activities in their daily work. There is an increasing interest in accelerated learning and new approaches to teaching and learning such as neuro-linguistic programming. This guide fills a gap in the literature by applying these ideas to training in information and library work, but it also covers more well-established ideas about how we learn. It attempts to turn theory into practice by focusing on a wide range or training activities and offering many examples of excellent modern practice. Presented in an accessible style, it aims to help both new and experienced trainers to design effective training programmes and to deliver motivating and stimulating training events. It also offers guidance on how to evaluate the effectiveness of events and how to continuously improve training practice. Topics covered include: the changing context of training; the importance of learning styles; the creative trainer; designing and assessing effective programmes; running learning groups; evaluating the impact of events; and continuous professional development.
