Description
This is an illustrated book on the the Kingdom of Bhutan, tucked in the Himalayas, which has remained a forbidden and almost impenetrable country for over three centuries. The author and photographer were fortunate enough to meet Princess Ashi Cheoki, who treated them as personal guests and granted them entry into the forbidden East. The author describes how the further east they went the deeper was their understanding of the country and its people. Greeted with fascination by the Bhutanese, they were received with hospitality when staying in temples, barns or with village chieftains. They also met the Dalai Lama.
