内容説明
Compared to the reception of other Jewish communties in Europe, the "Jewish question" in Hungary was unique in terms of its emancipation and assimilation. Ungv ry asks why the Hungarian Jewish community became one of the most assimilated in Europe, and why there was always a lingering doubt about their true "Magyar" background. Using archival research, Ungv ry uncovers that, at the turn of the 20th century, a cultural anti-Semitism influenced the country's political and artistic judgements.
