Description

Narsi Mehta was the most significant bhakta-poet of Gujrati. It includes 40 songs of the Smgara na pado, 30 verses of Smgara Mala and 30 philosophical / devotional songs. The 70 verses from the two Srngara collections treat the theme of Radha-Krsna love play similar to the Gita-Govinda. The philosophical songs preach renunciation and the impermanence of life. Each song is prefaced by a short note giving its meaning and general context.
