This collection of lectures offers a unique historical perspective of scientific and cultural developments in each of the respective fields, and would appeal to a wide range of readers. In addition to the lectures and acceptance speeches, they provide an opportunity to read the Nobel laureates' personal accounts of the many years of preparation and effort that led to their acknowledged achievements. Also available are the lectures, 1969 -- 1995, for the Sveriges Riksbank Prize in Economic Sciences, in memory of Alfred Nobel.
