Description
Introducing the concept of back stability, this text reviews the biomechanics of the lumbar spine and stabilization mechanisms. It shows how to establish the foundational positions and movements for the stabilization programmes; the consequences of muscle imbalance and how to address that problem; how to build abdominal muscle strength; and how to diagnose and correct bad posture. It goes on to show how to build back fitness with weight training equipment, and provides many dynamic control exercises for going on to advanced rehabilitation and stability. The parts are pulled together in a back stability programme for each client, and the text goes on to show how to avoid back injury at home and at work.
