Colour photographs of Desert Shield and Desert Storm have been collected from all over the world and presented by photojournalists Ray Cave, former Managing Editor of "Time" magazine, and Pat Ryan, former Editor-in-Chief of "Life" magazine. The analysis and description of the war, from its origins to its climax, by Peter David who has been covering the Gulf War since the beginning. An epilogue assesses the significance of the war and its impact on world affairs. There is also additional vivid reporting from the battlefront witnesses and a four-page description in computer graphics of the central drama of the campaign. Peter David is the International Editor of "The Economist".
